Chet taught my little sister, and came to the house outside Boston in suburbs. He asked me if I wanted to learn and I tried but didn't like it at all, nor the feel of those sharp strings. What a joy you brought to life,man,you brought life to life,what a pleasure it was to be a student of yours at Central Music in the 1980's.. You made it exciting to learn guitar,and though I was a terrible student you were very patient and kind,your stories were the stuff of legend,you were truly one of a kind,the kind of person people write books about,anyone who reads this would agree,And not to mention your excellence musically,I could pay you for the lessons just to listen to you play...

Im 50 years old and took lessons from chet for 3 years I was ten. I just found out today that he had passed. What a great human being Chet was. I do miss him.

To Chet's family, what a great loss to have him gone. chet in his younger days lived with my parents in Bridgewater,Vermont and played with my dad in a band. In later years when I was young Chet visited us in Bradford, Vermont. We would always look forward to him coming up and visiting us. My husband Dave Porrazzo and I were night club entertainers. I was a singer & Dave was a jazz guitarist who also studied with Chet. When we were traveling on the road we met up with Chet in Cleveland, Ohio. We had a great time. Chet will be missed. Patti Damon

In my life as a professional musician and teacher, I can say that I've never met a more dedicated and gifted teacher than Chet Kruley. He had a way of making learning so much fun.
