Choudary Venkatappaiah Kavuri

My condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Kavuri. I worked with Dr. Kavuri for several years. He was such a great guy, great humor, even those nights I had to call him a 2 am. He will truly be missed.

I randomly ran across this looking through the recent local obituaries. Dr. Kavuri was my doctor when I was in my teens and early 20´s and struggling with mental illness. He was the only psychiatrist I ever felt heard by and I´ve always remembered that. He treated me more like a person rather than a patient and that made a big impact and difference. I worked with Dr Kavuri on 6400 at DMH. I really liked him. He never minded being called about his patients, even in the middle of the night. He gave me some clove candy out of his office when I had a terrible toothache. He said whatever he had in his office was open to any of us nurses. Such a kind man. Condolences to his family.

I was saddened to learn about Choudary´s recent passing. We worked together as colleagues for many years and I valued his skill and compassion when helping my patients. He will be missed as both a colleague and a friend.

Dr. Kavuri left a huge impact in my career as an ICU nurse. I will never, ever forget him, his wonderful wife and amazing children and grandchildren. Prayers for his family as they lost a wonderful man.
