Chris Hargrave

Chris Hargrave, a resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie and formerly of Lake Oniad, Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Tuesday, March 20, 2007. He was 47.

Son of Robert Hargrave of Wappingers Falls and the late Renee Starrett Hargrave, he was born July 9, 1959 in Poughkeepsie.

Chris attended Roy C. Ketcham High School in Wappingers Falls. He was the co-owner of C&M Construction Company in Poughkeepsie with Mike Tierney. He was a member of the Rogers Point Boat Club in Hyde Park as well as the Poughkeepsie Elks Club. Chris was also a former Village of Wappingers Falls Trustee and a former member of the Hyde Park Zoning Board. Most importantly he was a loving and caring companion, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend.

Chris is survived by his children, Casey R. Hargrave of the Town of Poughkeepsie, Ashley K. Hargrave of the Town of Poughkeepsie, and Samantha N. Hargrave of Wappingers Falls; his companion, Lori A. Slinskey and her children, Brandon S. and Kristie M. Slinskey; his grandchildren, Michael C. Hargrave and Brianna L. Kelly; his sisters, Suzanne B. Dykeman of Wappingers Fall and Carol L. Mitchell of Richmond, Virginia; the mother of his children, Jackie Hargrave; his nieces, Dehna M. Dykeman, Tanya L. Dykeman, and Sarah Mitchell; his nephews, Tye A. Dykeman, Robert H. Dykeman, III and Matthew Mitchell; and numerous friends.

Family will receive their friends on Saturday, March 24, 2007 from 12 to 4 p.m. at Straub Funeral Home, 55 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.

The family will continue celebrating Chris' life at a memorial service at 12 noon on Sunday, March 25 at Rogers Point Boat Club, River Point Road in Hyde Park.
