Not sure what to say?

Dear Chris,

It was a lovely day yesterday, wasn’t it? As I sat there on the grass, next to the newly turned dirt that covered you, I looked in every direction - and decided that you had a very comfortable place to spend eternity. Pretty. Peaceful. Quiet. Before long, that little scrawny tree will be putting out lots of shade from the summer sun. It was comfortable there - and it felt good to be close to you again.

So I’m writing to let you know that, when my time comes,...

Jan,
I'm so very sorry for your loss. But I want you to know that Tommy visited me shortly after his death, just as Chris visited you. It was much too brief but it was the most important visit of my life. Chris knew that your love and support was with him during the entire struggle, even when he didn't look conscious to you. He knew you were there in his heart. And he'll be waiting for you in the light.

To Chris's family: Even though Chris was a significant person in my mom's life (and in my life as well, through her) for some years I never had the pleasure of meeting any of you. But I want you to know that Chris was very special to us and that our house shares your grief. He is at peace now, with God. May your many memories of good times with him bring you comfort. I know it does to us.

What do I say to the love of my life and my very best friend? Ultimately, I guess I say “thank you.” Thank you for letting me into your life. Thank you for sharing those last years with me.

Thank you for showing me the joy of all things living. You knew everything there was to know about birds and trees and streams and clouds and plants and wildlife and… everything. So all I’ll need to do is walk outside to be with you. Every time I see a robin’s egg I’ll remember your gentle...

I will always remember being with you and Jan. Your love and committment for each other will always remain an inspiration to me.
I am comforted to now know that you have found wellness and peace in God's loving grace.

Forever your friend, Lee Ann

Tim,
I am so sorry to here about the loss of your dad. My condolences go out to you and your family.

Andrea

I remember when you showed Tom and I how your camera worked to take the photo finish pictures when you worked at Northfield track, a job you really loved. I remember you were always working on some project or other often times making something of greater value after someone else may have discarded the item as trash.

I still see you in my mind sitting there with your legs crossed as you always did stroking your chin as you enthusiastically spoke about your beloved farm and what would...
