Chris J. HoodFuneral service for Chris J. Hood, age 38, of Chickasha will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2009, in the Bible Baptist Church. Rev. Kim Hayes will officiate Rev. Ray Sims will assist.Chris Hood was born the son of Don Hood and Kay Cook Hood on September 24, 1970, in Chickasha. He died on May 28, 2009, at his home in Chickasha. Chris was born and raised in Chickasha. He attended Chickasha Schools where his mother was a teacher. Chris played little league and school baseball. After graduation from Chickasha High School, he attended USAO. Chris had worked at Jake's Rib, Southern Plains Medical Center, Cox Communications, and Grady Memorial Hospital. He loved watching the Atlanta Braves, but especially loved watching his boys play baseball.He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William and Margaret Cook, paternal grandfather, Walter Lee Hood, paternal grandmother, Myrtle Smith, and step paternal grandfather, Errol Smith. Survivors include: Wife: Amy Hood of the home, Son: Jake Hood of the home, Son: Matt Hood of the home, Parents: Don and Kay Hood of Alva, Brother and Fiance': Randy Hood and Barbara Startz of Broken Arrow, Brother and Wife: Mike and Brenda Hood of Alva, Nephews: Kale and Bryce Hood and Davis Hood, Niece: Heather Hood. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.

I had planned to write you a note after I heard of Chris' death, but then I saw where you all are in Alva now. Please know that I loved Chris all the years I knew him. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Give Amy a special hug from me.

I have fond memories of Chris during high school. He was always kind and could make me laugh. My deepest sympathies and heartfelt prayers are with you.

Amy, I am very sorry for your loss and pray that god peace will carry you in the days to come.

I am so sorry to hear about about Chris. He was always so kind to me. He worked at Fenimore Manufacturing with me in his college years and he was a joy to be around. I know he will be missed and my thoughts and prayers are with all of his family at this time.
