Today I was driving down the road... and I thought of you. You would be 40 now, I'm about to turn 40. I'll never forget you coming to Nine West, giving me a kiss and saying goodbye. I never told you how much you meant to me but you did. I loved you. Our long conversations in my car, you telling me you knew that this was your destiny. I will never forget you and I hope some day I get to give you a hug in the pearly gates.

I was with North when he died. I was his medic and lost my leg in the blast that took his live. During the deployment we shared stories and traded books. He was smart and professional. He had good judgement and was a superb driver. I am fortunate to have know him and have named my son Christopher in his honor.

My family was given his name at a Memorial Day service in Irvine today. Thank you for your sacrifice young man. You have not been forgotten.

I did not know Christopher or his family. I had seen a memorial sticker on a car with his name on it. I decided to look him up when I got home so I can say my thanks and send my prayers to his family. God bless.
