Chris Owens

I remember her as Christine Shaw, part of a large farm family on the border of Haskell and Jones County, Texas. Her younger brother Fred was a classmate of mine at Paint Creek ISD. But she rose above her humble beginnings to achieve fortune and fame.

New Orleans is a little less bright due to the loss of this performer extraordinaire. May you rest in peace Chris Owens, and know that you will live on in the hearts of all of us who knew you.

Chris and I were dear friends. She was so talented and a very astute business woman. Always loving to her friends. We had many fun times together. I will truly miss her terribly . She touched so many lives and Bourbon Street will need be the same. Chris and her whole show performed at a fund raiser of mine at the English Turn Country Club, I performed a wedding for her sister, we partied before the Easter Parades, and she threw me an amazingly fun retirement party at her Club. We are so sorry for your lost. Christ will be greatly missed she was a light on the darkest day always smiling. To the Queen of the the Quarter we will always rememer you and love you.
