Chris G. Postma, age 62, of St. John, IN, formerly of South Holland, IL, passed away Friday, November 18, 2011. Beloved husband of Linda Postma nee Sportel. Loving father of Christian (Lisa) Postma, Anne (Tim) Spoelman, and Tim (Kelly) Postma. Proud grandfather of Oliver, Simon, Emma, Eddie, Andy, Eli, and Abram. Loving son of Edward (Norma) Postma and the late Gertrude Postma nee Bossenbroek. Dearest brother of Lynne Postma, Richard (Judy), Edward (Claire), Gary (Karen) Postma; Step-brother of Lori (Sam) Wiersma, Thom (Celeste) Nykamp, Jon (Kristi) Nykamp. Kind uncle of several nieces and nephews. Visitation Monday, November 21, 2011 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt. 30 & Pleasant Springs Lane) Dyer, IN 46311. Funeral service Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Christian Reformed Church (833 E. 168th St. South Holland, IL 60473). To the Postma Family: I am so sorry for your loss. Chris was such a fun friend of mine at Calvin. Linda, I am sure you are in shock...leave it to Chris to surprise us huh? But even though we are sad, he is happy in heaven & I know he is just waiting for us to join him, in time, whenever that may be...he will make all of the arrangements for the welcoming party. I am so glad that I had the pleasure of knowing him. Rest in peace my friend...you didn't know how much you were loved.
