Athens Christina M. 'Chris" West died Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at Fairfield Medical Center, Athens. Born May 6, 1961 in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Thomas S. "Wendy" Pitts and Leola M. Swart Pitts Markins.

She attended Athens High School and was employed with home cleaning. She was active with 4H, where she served as an Advisor, and The Plains Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed the Athens County Fair, where her children and grandchildren were active in 4H and enjoyed the Harness Racing at the Fair.

Chris is survived by her husband of 46 years, Michael "Mike" Lee West; a daughter, Tabitha (Edward) Cottrill of Athens; two sons, Michael Richard (Ellen) West of Chauncey and Mickey Allen (Kaylee) West of Athens; eight grandchildren, Kyle (Destiny), Mason, Sophia, Bentlee, Cheyanne, Halley, Seth and Gaige; four great grandchildren, Paislee, Jaxson, Oakley and Brantlee; three sisters, Connie Welch of Glouster, Charlene Bolin of Lancaster and Joyce (Danny) Wicker of Marion; her pet companion, Pretty Girl; several brothers in law and sisters in law, nieces, nephews and many special friends.

Beside her parents she is preceded in death by a sister, Jackie Gould. Friends and family are invited to call Monday, August 4, 2025 from 3-6 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens.
