My family became friends with Chris & Sylvia at the time they immigrated to America. We lived on Lindhurst St. in the city. This was back in the mid '50s. What wonderful memories. Chris Yare was a kind and generous man whom I met through his daughter Patty when I was in college. He and his wife Silvia would cook for us, chat with us, and make me feel at home when I came to visit. With my home far away in Boston, it was comforting to be there on so many occasions. He has since been a pleasure to visit, and has shown the same kindness and generosity toward my own children. We will miss him and keep his memory fondly in our hearts.
