Christiaan Van Lonkhuyzen

Mr. Van was an excellent teacher. Taking his basic chemistry and advanced chemistry classes in high school inspired me to become a nuclear engineer. He will be sorely missed.

Mr. Van was a pivotal teacher in my life. His two chemistry classes were instrumental in shaping my career as a science writer. I've traveled the world documenting and working on research projects. His voice and wisdom guide me today. I wish his family peace -- and a deserved sense of pride.

I just learned of Chris's death today. I remember the many birding trips we took over the years and the good times shared with our wives. Chris will be missed by the many he touched while studying our natural world. I also remember his and Lucy's many kindnesses after the death of my first wife. My sincere condolences to Lucy and the extended family.

Remembering our dear Friend, Chris Planting trees seems very appropriate. His love of nature and God´s world was evident in all he did and said!! We will certainly miss his wit and wisdom. Our love and prayers to alicyclics and family.

Such fond memories of a wonderful friend!! Very thankful for our years of pleasure in knowing Chris and Lucy. Friends are friends forever.

It was my privilege to know Chris as a neighbor and friend, a man of many talents. I always enjoyed visiting with him and viewing his varied pictorial presentations at church events. Lucy & family, you are in my prayers at this time of loss.
