Oh how I will miss my sweet faithful friend Christie! She was a rare jewel of a friend that I will treasure for the rest of my life. I was so blessed to meet her during our high school years, and to form a deep bond with her during college years. I was blessed to have her use her beautiful voice to lead worship at my wedding, and to get to stand with her in her wedding. Her voice, her smile, her laughter, her love for her Lord, her man Duke :), her daughters Sasha and Malia, and her family and friends were so evident with every interaction with her. I will treasure every memory I have with this sweet friend. She has always inspired me (and always will) to live a life that is pleasing to our Lord and to have lots of fun along the way! I am praying for you Duke, Sasha, Malia, Dana, Mrs Jane, Mr Bill. Your sweet Christie was such a blessing to me and to all who knew her! Love and prayers,

Our condolences to Duke and his sweet girls. My friendship with Christie was very long ago but it and our bond in faith stood the test of time. She was a true Christian and the truest of friends whether we talked often or not. Losing her is a very tough thing to handle and the world seems a bit dimmer without her light. My thoughts and prayers are with you for the comfort and peace that only He can provide. May God bless you and keep you always.

Duke,
I remember when you were on the drums and Christie in the Choir at Church. I remember when you and Christie would visit your Mom when Deb lived next door. I would notice when you would look at Christie " you would just have that "Special Loving Smile" on your face. I knew that this Union would be everlasting. I never had the opportunity to meet your girls but please know You and Christie were Family. Prayers from the Linda P. Melton Family. We love y'all and recognize the pain of Separation you and your girls are experiencing. My love to Your Mom, Siblings, Christie's Parents and other Family members. Please accept our Love, Sympathy, Condolences, but most of all our Prayers. Remember, "GOD GOT THIS" and there's nothing too hard for God. Christie walked in "God's Grace in Action" and impacted the lives of many. That sweet, Peaceable, Meek, and Quiet Spirit Christie exhibited were her connection to The Sweet Love and Comfort of God that held her through and right in Hand of God she's resting.

To Jane and Charles and Bill and Lorrie and the rest of your families: I feel at a loss for words at the loss of your daughter, sister, mother, wife. It is hard to accept one's passing, but even harder to accept if it is your child. GOD only knows how each one of us came to know Christie and to love her. I pray that the light in Christie's eyes will be the shining light at night as you go through life without her, but knowing she is in Heaven with her FATHER, she on one side and JJ on the other side watching out for their families. I pray that you find solace knowing that she is up there watching over all of us--her family and friends.

The definition of a friendship is not defined by the quantity of time spent getting to know each other, but by the quality of the time shared. Christie was my friend for what appeared to be a short time on earth, but the time I spent with her was some of the most profound times of my life. Christie showed me how to be strong in the face of adversity; how to love unconditionally; and how to walk in Faith in every aspect of my life. She didn't "teach" through just her words, but in her quiet and steadfast actions. I will truly miss her and will always love her. I will forever be grateful for the love she showed to Xavier and I. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, especially Duke and the girls.

Jane & Christie's Family,

I do not have the words that could send adequate condolences to all of you. For me, Christie was a young child the last time I saw her, but my faith believes that I will see her again someday where there will be no more pain and sorrow. The Bible tells us, that to be Absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Our thoughts and prayer's go out to her entire Family. Meet you in the sky Christie.
