Swartz Funeral Home - Flint Obituary

BABA, Christine ? Of Grand Blanc, age 88, died Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Maple Place Assisted Living.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Tom Mattiuzzo
officiating.

Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Storehouse at Riverside Tabernacle.
Visitation 12 noon Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Christine Baba was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 17, 1925.

She was the second child born of George Baba and Maria Jacob Benjamin.

Chris graduated from Central High School and then worked as a secretary for Chevrolet for 41 years, retiring in 1984.

She was a faithful member of Riverside Tabernacle since moving to Flint in 1928.

Chris enjoyed traveling the world with her dear friend, Martha Pelic.

She also volunteered for Love Inc., and The McLaren Auxiliary. She attended Diet Workshop and enjoyed water aerobics at the YMCA.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother, David Baba; sister, Louise Odren; brother-in-law, Edward (Bud) Odren and her great-nephew, Nicholas David Seyfried.

She leaves to cherish her memory; sister, Mary Ann (Robert) McGarry, Pisgah Forests, NC;

sister-in-law, Lillian Baba of Grand Blanc; eight nieces and nephews, Dr. Marietta L. Baba, Rochelle (Howard) Thompson, Michael (Shellie) Odren, Crystal Baba, Jonathan (Brenda) Baba, Annette (Jonathan) Burman, Lynn (Charlie) Cox, Betsy Chase (Todd Chenard), as well as ten great and eight great-great-nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank the owners and staff of Maple Place Adult Assisted Living for their wonderful love and support.

Christine was a wonderful friend & christian lady. I have great memories of our times together at Riverside Tabernacle & Fa Ho Lo camp. Heaven is sounding sweeter all the time with so many family & friends leaving this earth.
