Not sure what to say?

So hard to believe that it has been seven years since we lost you to that terrible disease, gioblastoma. Ironically, today I will go to the funeral of another friend who died from it too. I think of you everyday - your love of your family, cats, friends and of course, UM! Thank you for all the lessons I learned from you and for your many years of friendship. Love, Kay

I only found out yesterday at the Out of Darkness Walk by another adjunct professor from FIU that Christie had passed away. I was so very shocked to hear the news. I had Christie for an elective course while pursuing my Masters in Social Work at FIU. I will fondly remember her passion and compassion for children and what appeared to be a love of teaching. So glad I met you. Rest in peace.

I have such wonderful memories growing up at NYMA. Christie and her parents were part of our family. She will be missed.

Christine---you were a wonderful friend growing up and we shared many laughs and fun times. I am blessed that you were part of my childhood. memories

I have known Christie for over25 years. It's been two weeks and it still feels as you are a phone call away ready to answer any question or dilemma that may arise at work... May your wisdom and compassion remain with us... I believe you are truly in a better place. Callie is adjusting to her new home :)

Christie, you will always live in my heart. Thank you for all that you did to serve children and parents. Thank you for your friendship. Love always, Carmen R. Coleman

I enjoyed working with Christie at Centennial Middle School. She was always an advocate for Children. She will be missed.

Dear Christine,
I'm thinking of you and your Mom every day. You will be greatly missed but I know you are now in GREAT company. Watch over us please.
xoxo

Christie was my mentor, supervisor and friend while I worked as a Social Worker in Miami. She was always an inspiration to me and all those she came in contact with. She was a truly kind and generous person. I feel lucky and honored to be her friend and colleague . She was loved and will be missed by many.
