Born in Flint, Michigan on September 24, 1925 to the late Leo and Salomea (Wojtkowiak) Micinski. She grew up in the brick house next to St. Agnes on Pierson Road. She attended All Saints High School.
On June 12, 1948 she married Robert C. Rariden at St. Agnes, Flint, Michigan. They had 6 children together. He preceded her in death in 1961.
On April 11, 1964 she married David M. Darby at St. Luke’s, Flint, Michigan. Together they had 2 children. They moved from Lawndale in Flint to Grand Blanc, MI in 1968 and have lived there ever since.
Christine was a devout Catholic. She prayed constantly and spoke of the importance of the power of prayer to her entire family. Christine and her husband, David, were members of the Holy Redeemer Perpetual Adoration Team serving from 4am to 5am for twenty years. Her family was her greatest joy. She earned her pilot’s license in her early adult life. She enjoyed flying very much. She worked as a comptometer operator at General Motors for many years. She volunteered at her children’s school as a playground lady. She was often remembered for her recess kickball games. She loved family get togethers and playing games, mainly Poker, Bridge, and Password. Holiday family celebrations were a loving tradition, Thanksgiving dinners with all the trimmings, Christmas Eve where Santa came bearing gifts, everyone sharing lunch, then the entire family off to Christmas Eve Mass at St. Matthew’s and then back to the house for cards and an evening buffet. She was a constant fixture at her grand children’s activities. She enjoyed going to Florida and up North to the Tawas/Oscoda area for vacations. She was a blessing to everyone in her life.
Preceding her in death: Grand daughter Shannon Rariden PH.D, Brother Dr. Alfred (Mary) Micinski, Sister Leona (Peter) Labick, Brother Robert (Marilyn) Micinski, Brother Kenneth (Florence) Micinski.
