Christine Kruse, age 93, of Sibley, Iowa, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2006, at Sibley Nursing and Rehab in Sibley. Funeral services will be Friday, March 31, 2006, at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Sibley. Rev. Tom Voigt officiating. Burial in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery in George, Iowa, at 2:00 P.M. Friday. Visitation will be Thursday, March 30, 2006, from 12:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home in Sibley. Christine Kruse was born January 25, 1913, on a farm near Corona, SD, where she lived her youth and attended a country school. She was the daughter of Enoch and Alida (Jordan) Block. Christine was "born again" as a Christian, at the age of 10 years old, and baptized when she was 12, by Rev. D. Koester at Corona, SD. She was united in marriage to Peter A. Kruse of George, IA, on February 14, 1935, at the farm home of Rev. Jacob Jordan. They lived in White and Toronto, SD, where they farmed. In 1964, they moved to Astoria, SD, and did custodial work. They moved to Sioux Falls, SD, where Pete worked for the Highway Department and Christine did laundry for Seminary students and custodial work for Northside Baptist Church. They moved to Westbrook, MN, for 4 years, then to George, IA. Pete passed away on May 20, 1992. Christine moved to Sibley, IA, and then to George, IA, and back to Sibley. Christine was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sibley. She was a Sunday school teacher, worked with ladies mission circles, and made quilts, which were given to missionaries around the world. She was always active in church work. She loved to cook and bake and give it away. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandma, and great-grandma, who loved to have fun. Christine passed away on Monday, March 27, 2006, at the Sibley Nursing and Rehab in Sibley. Those left to cherish her memories are 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Charles and Carolyn Kruse of Barnhart, MO, Edward and Gloria Kruse of Sibley, IA; one daughter: Alida Quenomoen of Montevideo, MN; 10 grandchildren: Aaron Kruse, Nadine (Kruse) and Gary Wisler, Ryan and Lori Kruse, Rhonda (Kruse) and Jon Wade, Ramona (Kruse) and Ernie Villanueva, Randy Kruse and Lisa Story, Rodney and Laura Kruse, Lisa Gillispie and Patrick O'Malley, Loren and Nancy Berndt, Paul and Lisa Berndt; 17 great-grandchildren: David and Mark Wisler, Matthew and Lacey Kruse, Benjamin and Ian Wade, Gloria and Eddie Villanueva, Delaney and Chenoa Story, Cody and Destiny Kruse, Connar Kruse, Amber and Ashley Gillispie, Allison, Stephanie and Jacob Berndt, Samantha Berndt; 4 step-grandchildren: Ernie and Issac Villanueva, Anna Marie Villanueva and Amanda Scoplitte. She was preceded in death by her husband: Peter; her parents; 4 sisters: Margaret Janssen, Elizabeth Joneschiet, Rudalphine Meinerts, Swanetta Block; one brother: Rudolph Block, 3 brothers-in-law: Jake Janssen, Bill Joneschiet, Jake Meinerts, one sister-in-law: Elma Block; one son-in-law: Arnold Berndt.
