Christine L. McCaslin
1943 - 2025
WEST SPRINGFIELD
Christine L. (Sellarole) McCaslin, 81, passed away peacefully at her home Sunday morning surrounded by her loving family. Christine was born and raised in Hackensack, NJ, the daughter of the late Joseph and Enid (Hesse) Sellarole. She has lived in West Springfield for the past 55 years and worked as a secretary for Hannoush Jewelers until her retirement in 2020. A devoted wife, mother, and "Oma" who spent her 81 beautiful years spreading love, sassiness and laughter to any and all around her. She was happiest when baking for and with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was famous for her Christmas cookies and pistachio cake and you could always count on Christine to never deny a sweet dessert of any way, shape, or form. The love of her life, husband Richard F. McCaslin Sr., passed away in 2001. During their 39 years of marriage, they traveled together and resided in many places before they called West Springfield home, where they raised their two children, Richard F. McCaslin Jr. and Denise Hannoush whom she leaves behind. She also leaves her two sisters and their spouses Cathleen & Stewart Schutzman and Helen & John Richter, seven grandchildren Danielle Young and husband Todd, DeAnna Syner and husband Timothy, Kristen Montefusco and husband Fabio, Joseph Hannoush, Tanya Pratt and husband Alex, Caley O'Sullivan and husband Cian and Alycia Hannoush. Christine also says goodbye to her six great grandchildren: Vincenzo, Luca, Dominic, Tyson, Casey and Vera. A wonderful woman until the very end, we will miss and remember her always. Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday from 10:00 – 11:00am followed by Liturgy in St. Thomas the Apostle Church at 11:30am with burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.
