Not sure what to say?

Just last night, preparing for a dinner I was hosting for my adult children and their spouses, I took out the beautiful sterling silver spatula she'd given me years ago, and paused. "I miss Tina," I thought. And now here, this morning, I open my email and find an opportunity to share that thought with others who miss her too.

No one can fill the space she held in my life. As a role model and as a writer of wise, perceptive poetry that asked questions of humanity and also...

I didn't know Christine Sheehan O'Connor personally. However I came across multiple articles about her when researching for a family project. Her name as well as her husband and her children were also on a set of papers originally belonging to Garrett A. Keating. It is a Family Tree arrangement dated 1970 so of course it's not current to this year. I am in the process of revising it to a more current arrangement by drawing on information from known descendants.

In closing I will...

Dear Christine' family,
I am so thankful that Christine took such an interest in my parents and all of us. She was like guardian angel for us and had a very generous spirit.
Thank you for continuing to keep our families connected.
Love,
Tiane

Tina O'Connor was a friend through poetry, although I had the pleasure of being in her company only a couple of times when she came to visit her daughter, Mary Beth, in Ithaca, NY, and joined our poetry group, the High Noon Poets, for a couple of meetings. Tina was a delightful, talented, and gracious woman and we enjoyed her time with us greatly. On a couple of occasions, Tina and I exchanged email messages, agreeing that we were blessed to have had loving homes and the gift of children whom...

Mal, I am so very sorry to hear about your mother's passing. What a wonderful legacy she leaves behind. Thinking about you all at this difficult time.

Tina was a person of deep compassion, natural grace, and a warmth that radiated from an engaged and honest heart. The four generous and authentic people she raised are a testament to that. She had many friends - how could she not? And the gift that goes on is her writing: lyrical, strong words combined with a beauty that have stayed with me for years. Thank you, Tina. You meant so much to me, you still do, and always will.

Feb. 26, 1995 -- At an 80th birthday party for her long-time friend, Helen Wolf

To be strong, gentle, smart, hip, observant, witty and do all Tina did as a Mom, Wife, Friend, Store Owner, Poet, Writer, Leader, Community Citizen and Activist. We are in awe of a life so very well lived. We are thinking about you, sorry for your loss beyond words. OTOH, we can hope and look forward to an eternity to catch up on what we both missed in the interlude. With love hugs from the Wolfs -- Pete & Daphne, Ellen & Charlie, Sue, Betsy & John

Sincere condolences goes out to the O'Connor family for your sad loss. May GOD be a source of comfort and strength to the family.
