Christopher Lee Ashley, age 49 passed away Thursday May 13, 2021 at the Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, VA.

Chris was born in Michigan and was preceded in death by his daughter, Christy Ashley; grandson, Noah Ashley; father, Roger Lee Ashley, Sr.; father in law, Daniel Sutphin. He was the supervisor of the milling crew at W & L Construction and had worked there for over 30 years.  Chris attended Freedom Tabernacle Baptist Church, loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and his old Chevy Chevelle.  Chris was one of the hardest working men you would ever meet and would always lend a hand to whomever needed it.

Survivors include, his wife, Diana Ashley; mother, Brenda Spradlin Ashley; children, Christin Ashley, Brandon (Hope) Ashley, Brian (Sheryl) Ashley, Angel (William) Lamie; brothers, Derek Ashley, Roger Lee (Tommie) Ashley, Jr.; grandchildren, Maelynn, Brantley, Bryce, Gracie, Daniel, Kyson; nephews, Kaiden and Drake; niece, Rylee. Chris is also survived by his best friend Frank Bowman and many other special friends.

Funeral services will be held at 7PM Tuesday May 18, 2021 at the Bradley’s Funeral Home in Marion with Pastor Mike Sage officiating.  The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM prior to services. Interment will be Wednesday at 1PM at the Blevins Cemetery in Whitetop, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12noon for the procession to the cemetery.  Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com.  Bradley’s Funeral Home is serving the Ashley family.
