John, it seems impossible to speak of any consolation in the face of such a bitter loss, please know that you're very much in my thoughts and prayers at this time of sorrow. The most heartfelt sympathy from your old friend and someone who has known Chase since he was a one year old, Csaba Kiss

I remember a cute kid at OLL with his fabulous head of hair. He was a delight then. I am honored to have been part if your lives with Chase. May your memories of good times with Chase cushion you in this deep loss.

Words cannot express the enormous sense of loss and depth of sorrow we feel to have lost our nephew Chase. In our search to ease our sorrow I thought of the words of "Sting" in his song "Be Still My Beating Heart"..."I have been to every single book I know, To soothe the thoughts that plague me so...
I think I found them. They were written over 75 years ago by someone overcome with the loss of a loved one. (I only changed a few words.)
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow.
I am in the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain.
I am the golden fields of grain.
I am in the morning hush.
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight.
I am in the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom.
And also in the peace of a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing.
I am in every loving thing.
Do not stand at my grave bereft.
For I am not there, I have not left.
I am still with you...

Chase was one of few people who could make me so laugh, that I would be crying. He cared so much about others. I will miss his honesty and sincerity. He was a great friend. His smiling face will forever remain in my mind.

Teena and John, Joe's and I send our deepest condolences.
I remember your sweet boy as he and our oldest daughter were at Oll in the same grade together. I would watch the boys in class together and they always had so much fun being the scamps that they were, which always made me laugh. Please always know that your son had a gift for putting smiles on people's faces. A rare trait these days.
One never realizes how much another impacts others, often we are too silent and do not say what needs to be said about how important we are to each other. Know your son was loved even from afar by many and we all carry a hole in our hearts where he is now missed. Know that this life is merely temporary and we will all walk into that good night and be reunited together once again making us whole again. With much love and condolences
Peace,
Joe and Marlana Stocking

I did not know Chase, but I lost my daughter, Shannon on April 22nd 2013. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Shannon was my only child. Not a day goes by that I don't think about her. The same will be for you. Don't wonder what you could have done differently. There was nothing. God put Chase on this earth for a short time so that he could touch the heart and souls of the many people that he met and to put a smile on their faces if only for a moment. Those people will always carry him in their hearts even if they never knew his name. As for you I'm sorry but the pain, at least for me hasn't gone away. What has happened is I've learned how to hold myself together and not cry when I'm with others. I've become a stronger person. At times I can feel Shannon and her love all around me. It's very comforting. You too, if not already, will feel Chase and his love all around you.
About myself, I've never left a message for anyone that I didn't know in a guest book. I usually don't look at the obituaries, but Chase caught my eye, I read his obituary and I knew I had to write. I know how much pain you are going through. God bless you.
