My Dear Velma,

Isent you a card, but it was returned undeliverable. So I'm resorting to this--
I was shocked and saddened to learn of Chris' death. I tearfully smiled however remembering how he kept you on your toes while growing up! And that impish smile of his... you couldn't stay mad for long. For you, another one that departs way too soon!! Your Mom, Alan, and now Christopher.

I am so, so sorry for your loss and I hope it helps to know many heartfelt thoughts are with you, Andy, Jessica, and the rest of the family.

Much love & a BIG hug,
Sue Mikula

P.S. Pls send me your current addr, a post card will do.

My Brother Chris-
Just about everybody that knew Chris, knows about his sense of humor and that bit of a wild side that he possessed. Those are the main reasons that he had so many people in his life that were important to him. Please don't forget about his compassion for others, this part of Chris was not always so evident.
I met a woman and her sister at his service that were touched by this trait Chris had. The woman I spoke with was crying and deeply affected by Chris's passing. She was sorry for the loss to our family, but equally upset for the loss to her family. She told me that Chris had helped her sister, a client at the Palm Beach Habilitation Center, more than she had the words to express. She knows that Chris had an enormous amount of compassion for the people he worked with and his passing will affect some of them very deeply.
Chris and I had a relationship with plenty of ups and downs, however, he is my brother, I loved him and I will miss him deeply. I will think of Chris often for the rest of my days, and I hope that when anyone who knew him, thinks of him, that they realize Chris touched many lives in many different ways and he was a special person.

I worked with Chris in the early 1990s at his father's restaurant. We had a great friendship -- I loved his laugh, his smile, his positivity. It was a thing of genetic beauty to see Andy Sr. and Chris laughing side by side in a booth. My heart hurts for an old friend that I always assumed I would see again sometime.

To the family of Chris,
Just heartbroken to have learned of his passing. Chris was such a down to earth, friendly man with a great sense of humor. Thankful to have had the chance in life to have known him and worked with him. He made such a difference in the lives of those he helped, not only teaching them skills, but showing them true caring, patience, and compassion. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I know I speak for the whole Dryden Community who knew Chris. Chris was someone who you know was full of LIFE and ENTHUSIASM. He was a four (4) sport athlete, something you don't see anymore. I liked his tenacity on the wrestling mat and also on the basketball court. He showed a lot of passion in whatever he got involved with. I last saw Chris 27 years ago. Eventhough the time has gone by. Chris has never been or will be forgotten. He meant a lot to many people and he will be greatly missed. There are some heavy hearts after hearing this news. God will be watching and helping us heal with this loss. God Bless Chris's Family and friends. I am Blessed to have known Chris Castrenze....

Adolescent years, then Graduation Day, life begins for us as we move away, get married, raise children of our own and live the day to day life! We lose touch with the friends we once grew up with, played with and shared things with! Chris was one of these friends! Saddened by a life that was taken too soon! My heart goes out to the family in this time of grief! Know that you are not alone, you have someone watching over you! Chris you will be missed but not forgotten!

Chris was fearless. Chris had magnetism, charisma and attitude. Growing up we became brothers, more than good friends. Chris could make me laugh my tail off and boil over in the same conversation. I felt safe with him in my corner all of those years. He was the best man in my wedding and I the best in his. We would drink and sing, "Lean On Me" at the top of our lungs. The remix, not the original. Chris always had good music. Chris taught me how to ski moguls, the value of a good horror flick and to never back down. As adults, life happened and we were only in touch on occasion. The time between catching up and the distance didn't matter, the love was still there. I wish we had more time together compadre. Watch over your family and friends. You will be dearly, dearly missed.
