I remember Chris from my years in Hampton, high school and being in the marching band. He ALWAYS had a smile on his face that just lit up the room.

Upon reading the monthly online Augustana College newsletter, I was stunned to learn of the passing of Chris. Like Chris, I was a geology major. Back then we spent a lot of time with each other. We both happened to work in Colorado in the summer of 1976 and climbed some 14,000 foot peaks together. Chris was a smart and charismatic guy who was not afraid to go his own way in life. I haven't seen him since college graduation, but life seems a bit dimmer now that I know he's gone.

I am so sorry for your unexpected loss. I enjoyed meeting Chris and knowing how much he meant to Marc and the rest of the Nelson family. He was a light in their lives and will shine brightly forever. May you find peace with your memories.

Let me begin by saying that I hope that you remember us - we visited you in Flagstaff back in September 2016, and we greatly appreciate the hospitality you showed us at that time. We were shocked and saddened to hear that Chris had died, so suddenly and unexpectedly. While we may have fallen out of touch, please know that we do remember Chris, and will surely never forget him - he certainly was one of a kind. In this time of profound grief and sadness, please know that there are many people...

I consider it a privilege to be a high school classmate of yours Chris - and an honor to call you a friend. May a flights of angels sing thee to thy rest. ".. and when our work is done, our course on Earth is run, may it be said, Well done: be thou at peace." - Jeri & Alan Andon

Oh my! This was unexpected news. I knew Chris from back in the nineties when he would visit my grandmother, Virginia Newton and Uncle Adam Newton. He would listen to grandma's stories & history of surviving in the early days of life in the Verde Valley and surrounding areas. Uncle would translate from Apache to English for Chris. My condolences to his family. RIP Chris.

Blessings Chris. I met you long ago in Bellemont and then again at Bilby Research a few years later. Destiny was there for you in a few ways.... Lots of good times and that mano/metate coffee grinder.LOL.
