Swartz Funeral Home - Flint Obituary

DUNCKEL, Christopher - Of Flint, age 34, died Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Hurley Medical Center.

Chris knew how to live life to the absolute fullest. He loved theatre and had many roles, from being on stage with roles like Trekie Monster in Avenue Q and Eddie is Rocky Horror, to being backstage as a tech manager and carpenter with Light in the Dark Musical Theatre Company. He was a licensed pyro technician who loved every opportunity to send fireworks up, especially when he got to hand light. He was a season pass holder to the Michigan Renaissance Festival, and a member of the Rogues Guild, where he was always surrounded by people he had come to consider family. He loved haunted houses and Halloween. He loved being outdoors and camping and hiking, especially in the Upper Peninsula. He loved spending time with his family, especially his niece Miranda, and his nibbling Guinness. He was adored by his brother in law Maximus. He was known for almost always wearing a kilt. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Union and worked on hvac systems. He loved playing disc golf and collecting discs. He loved hosting bonfires for friends and family and always did whatever he could to make anyone he came across smile and feel loved. Chris was a force to be reckoned with and very deeply loved by all of his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Christina, father Duane and step mother Karen, Sister Amanda and Brother in Law Todd, Brother Duane and sister in law Nicole, niece Miranda, and nibbling Guinness.

Not sure what to say?

He was my favorite friend, we grew apart due to distance and time management, and you were like the older brother I've never had.
I will never forget the life lessons I've learned from Christopher, he had the biggest of hearts and the most gentle of souls.
He openly welcomed anyone and just genuinely loved others.
I will forever miss you my friend.

Always enjoyed talking to Dunk. I loved how unique, talented and interesting a man he was. He was always willing to help others. He was definitely taken far too soon. This world will miss you emensely Dunk. RIP

What an amazing guy. Taken too soon. I'm so sorry.

Chris was such a great guy. I appreciated his enthusiasm and the way he was always there for anyone who needed help. I loved working with him in theatre, he was fearless. Peaceful rest, my friend. Earth will not be the same without you.

Love you to the moon and back.
