Pietszak Funeral Home - Cheektowaga Obituary

On June 26, 2025, Christopher Michael Edwards passed away unexpectedly at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, New York. He was an organ donor, giving two kidneys so others could live. He enjoyed spending time out in nature, taking walks with his beloved Dog, hiking through the woods, sitting and watching the peaceful waters, anything to find a peaceful place to achieve his zen happiness.

Born on Wednesday, October 26th, 1988, Chris was the beloved son of Mary Lynn (nee Garbacz) and Robert Edwards.

He was the devoted brother to David (Meiling) Edwards, Bobby Edwards, and Jessica (Fiancé James Bardo) Mosher.

A loving grandson to Phyllis (nee Wereski) and the late Leo “Mickey” Garbacz, Jr., and the late Florence (nee Davies) and late Sylvester Edwards.

His faithful fur companion, Vincent Skyie, was always by his side.

He was cherished by his aunts and uncles, Michele (Robert-Bob) Kokal, Mark (Karen) Garbacz, Martin (Mary) Garbacz, Susan (Robert) Dierken, Eileen (late Jim) McKelvey, Tom Edwards, Brenda (Ray) Szymanoski, and was predeceased by Michael Garbacz, Diane (Keith) Sherwood, and Daren (Faith) Edwards. As a beloved uncle, he was adored by CJ, Zackary, Halley, Dawson, Bella, Rose, and James, who brought him endless joy and several cousins also survived him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service that will be held at New Heart Ministries, located at 80 Smokey Hollow Road, in Baldwinsville, New York 13027 on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 2 PM. The celebration will be conducted by Pastor Charity Gustke.

The family appreciates your prayers and concerns and would like to thank you for your support.

Please take a minute to share a photograph in our online Photo Album or a favorite memory in our Guest Book here on the Tribute page, as they celebrate the life of a remarkable young man.

Not sure what to say?

My condolences to Chris's family, Chris always had a smile on his face and seemed to have a huge heart. I did not know Chris very well but am blessed to have known him at all and glad we were able to have one last dance.

You always greeted me with a hug and said I smelled like flowers. You brightened my days more than I could ever brighten yours. I'll miss you buddy and may you rest in peace.

Mary Lynn and Bob I am so sorry for your loss. My condolences to David , Bobby and Jessica for the loss of their brother. My heart breaks as a parent . Keep his memory alive in your head and your heart. God bless Chris for his donation to save others. In that generous donation he lives on. My prayers go out to you and the family.

I am so sorry for your loss

Across the miles, of course condolences to my Sister ML and Bob #1 and their family. Hopefully you will find peace knowing that Chris is at his peace.

Chris you are one of Heaven's angels now a perfect little star, and when you shine the world can finally see how beautiful you are. May you fly with magic wings on clouds so soft and white forever joyful and bathed in peace and light. My heart is broken as your life was far too short. Rest in peace Chris. Love Aunt Sue

I'm gonna miss you Chris, I was sad to hear about your passing, but it was a pleasure to know you. You may have been a little high strung at times but you had a good heart. Too bad others didn't see that enough. You passed the day after my accident and I know you would be there for me if you were still here . Watch over us all ok. Luv ya.
