Christopher Todd Garvin

Christopher Todd Garvin, 50, of Cortland, passed away unexpectedly at his home, on September 9, 2015. Christopher was born May 17, 1965, a son of the late James and Jean (Westover) Garvin. He was a 1983 graduate of Lakeview High School, he went on to earn his Bachelors in Speech/ Telecommunications from Youngstown State University, he also received his CFP (Certified Financial Planner) Certification. Chris worked as a financial planner for W3 Wealth Management. Chris was a dedicated family man and devoted his time to his wife and his three girls. Chris loved spending time coaching his daughters' softball, basketball and tennis activities. He was an avid Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and an Ohio State fan. He greatly enjoyed golfing, playing tennis, playing the drums and singing, and listening to music. In 2013, Chris completed his only bucket list wish by golfing at St. Andrews in Scotland. To hold on to his precious memories, he leaves behind his wife, best friend and the love of his life, Lisa (Texter) Garvin, whom he married August 8, 1992. Three daughters, Sarah, Anna and Laura Garvin, all at home, who were his everything. Three sisters; Cheri (Matt) Garvin-Dodgson, of Niles, Debora Garvin, of Youngstown, Amy (Bob) Harris, of Erie PA; a step mother, Claudia Garvin, of Orlando, FL; step brother Robert Russell, of Chicago, IL, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Chris was preceded in death by a step brother Donald Russell. Family and friends may call Sunday September 13, 2015 from 2pm- 5pm at Lane Family Funeral Homes- Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Dr. NE Warren, OH 44484. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 14, 2015 at 11am with visitation from 10am to 11am, at the funeral home.
