Not sure what to say?

Dear Haas family, It is only after our second tour in Georgia that we learned with grief and sympathy of the loss of Dr. Haas. Our son prized his classes and I found delight and inspiration reading the book he gave us, Lives of the Georgian Saints. We visited many many Georgian churches knowing our shrines and history. Holy Martyr Queen Ketevan's relics were lent to our Catholic Church for a time for veneration because they were saved and then interred in a monastery in India by Catholic...

We're remembering you today in prayer. We remember you every day.

Chris was a superb lecturer at Villanova, and I heard lots of others. I was sorrowful being in Tbilisi this spring googling various historical questions, coming up with his name again and again. It is a terrible turn of events that this happened.

Dear Barb, I'm so very sad to hear about your loss. Chris' passing has affected me deeply. I think about him and about his various gifts to his colleagues and to me, his wit and his friendship often. All the best to you and your sons in this hard time. Bill Barry

My sincere condolences to the Haas family. Although I never met Christopher, I feel as if I knew him. Picking up Alexandria in Late Antiquity at a conference led to my own dissertation topic, and I have continued to go back to his work. I am grateful for the thoughtful and faith-filled words in the obituary.

Dear Barb, Drew, and David,
Words cannot express our sorrow. Only our faith in Jesus Christ gives us some measure of hope and comfort. May He provide you with the same.
