Not sure what to say?

Chris was a great friend, colleague and co-worker. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him. I met him in Swansea when he was studying for his PhD and from that time he became a key player and Chairman of the CMBBE symposium series and in the international biomechanics community. He will always be remembered.

Chris was such a wonderful presence for our community. He pursued fundamental knowledge, and sought to apply it to help others through his research. Chris also was vital to developing the field of cellular and molecular bioengineering. I will miss certainly him.

Chris was my advisor when I was a young researcher at Penn State University. With Chris as an advisor you had a mentor for life. He never forgot the junior people in his group and followed their progress closely. What we learnt from Chris will be passed on through the community and influence our work for a long time to come....

Chris was a dear colleague, with a big heart, who truly cared about his students, colleagues, and community. He is gone too soon. I cherish the time I got to spend with him.

Thesis defnese with my student Yue Eric Yu

Chris was a giant in bone mechanobiology and led innovative research in the field. He is also an energetic and wonderful colleague at Columbia. We will miss him greatly!

Chris was a valued colleague at the Palo Alto VA and Stanford, and a gifted scientist, taken from us before his time. We will miss him
