We were playing for a softball team called Roxy´s Cafe. We were the city divisional champions playing in a tournament called Little Cesar´s at vandercook lake. The team we were playing had a runner passin third base on to home plate. He had attempted to knock down our player Greg Burt, well it was going to end well. Our player got up and pushed the other player back and went to take a swing at the opposing player, when Chris ran from first base grabbed Greg lifting him up swinging him around....

I loved him so much today im 8 and in 3rd grade we had a lot in common he's probably looking down at us all you guys and my family and yours i wish he has a great afterlife.

I've knew Chris for a short 26 years. And at 67 years old, I can honestly say that he is the strongest man I have ever had the pleasure to know. He is one person I will never forget. Rest in peace brother .

Chris volunteered his time to the University of Michigan Trauma Burn Center SOAR Program where he offered survivors assistance in their recovery. He was a kind and generous man who will be missed dearly. The Trauma Burn Center sends our deepest condolences to the Klavon family.

I met Chris at Burn Camp in Minnesota where we were both counselors. The camp changed the lives of kids with burns. But it was expensive. Chris said: Why don't we start our own camp in Michigan?" So, with Dr. Alan Messinger and Fire Marshall Marty Meyers, we did. No one declined to contribute. So Great Lakes Burn Camp began in Kalamazoo.
