Christopher Mabe Obituary
Chris was born Nov. 9, 1996 in Lumberton, NC. He was a sophomore at LaGrange High School where he was active in LaGrange High Baseball and LaGrange High Football. Chris was a member of First Presbyterian Church of LaGrange.
Survivors include his parents, Eddie and Laurie Mabe; brother, Matthew Mabe; grandparents, John and Jean Corbett, Miriam Powell, and Harrell Mabe; aunts and uncles, Kathryn and Michael Tucci and Pam and Ricky Bane; first cousins, Ally, Michael, and Alex Tucci; great aunts and great uncles, Judy and John King and Dot and Coy Mabe; and cousin, Kay Mabe; and other family members.
Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at First Baptist Church on the Square, LaGrange, Ga., with the Rev. Andy Buchanan, the Rev. Dan Woltman, and Dr. Douglas DeCelle officiating.
The family is asking that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to LaGrange High Blue Sox, 516 North Greenwood St., LaGrange, GA 30240 in memory of Chris Mabe.

Laurie and Eddie:
Gosh I cant believe its been 6 years!!! Devin and I often talk about Christopher and how he was such a fine young man. When the tragedy happened, Devin slept in my room for exactly 2 weeks. He was devastated!!! I think about you both quite often and I pray that your hearts are healing somewhat. We love your sweet family and you guys are always in our hearts!!!

To the Mabe Family,
I hope that it will bring you some comfort to see the outpouring of love that has been shown especially by Chris's classmates, teammates, and friends. This kid made an impact on the lives of so many teens in LaGrange. He was not in a clique, he just loved everybody! He was nice to everyone he came in contact with. Although his time here was short, his job on this earth was well done. Have heard so many cute stories about the different ways he made the kids laugh. Praying for you every day. Thank you for the memories that sweet boy left us with. We will see him again. He loved baseball and he is on God's team now. (Probably up there complaining about the bats in Heaven!!) Laurie, I am so desperately and profoundly sorry about Chris's death. He was such a wonderful boy - a treasure. Everyone who knew him loved him as anyone could see. We heard about your loss while we were out of town and you and Eddie have been in my prayers ever since. Chris brightened the lives and brought laughter to his classmates at LaGrange High School. He was a special friend to my daughter, and I am so grateful for their friendship.
