Chris and I had lost touch over the years, but I feel utterly cheated that he's no longer with us.We first met on my first visit to New York in 1991 and we stayed friends for years. We did sometimes disagree about music volume and whether or not cats should be shampooed(!),but he was a wonderful person to have in my life.He had a beautiful soul,a winning smile and a huge heart. He died way too young and I miss him already. My heart goes out to James,Patricia and the family.

I met Chris in the early 90's in NYC, he was my neighbor on 53rd St. We both played guitar, loved music and became fast friends. What struck me early on in our friendship was his diverse interests, loyalty to his friends, honesty at all costs and his commitment to help those less fortunate, the sick and the poor. He definitely did all things his way with flair and style. I would always radomly see Chris at the all best concerts in NYC, we would connect in New Orleans at JazzFest. He...

I grew up w/ James & by extension, Chris from High School into adulthood. Myself, my brother Andrew, & the 2 Maguire boys spent many a summer day together in Short Hills & later both Andrew & I spent many great times w/ Chris in NYC. He was a man of varied interests, kindness, & intelligence & will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to his entire family at this difficult time.

Chris was a classmate at Millburn HS, though we didn't run in the same circles. I always felt a strong affection for him, and have fond memories of the tunes he would spin as a DJ at lunchtime in the cafeteria. I had always wished that the silly barriers that are there in high school hadn't been, as I could see much kindness in him. I'm very sorry for his loss and send wishes to all of those who loved him and knew him much better - it is clear he will be missed.

I send love, strength, and condolences to Chris's family and friends. Chris was friendly with my little brother so he was around our house when he was in grade school. He later told me that he discovered some great music blasting out of my bedroom, like Bowie, Mott the Hoople and later the Ramones and Television. I will forever be grateful knowing I turned him on to some music that was such a big part of his life. Rest in peace
