Christopher C. McDonough, 69, of Maplewood died on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange on Saturday, July 17, at 10:30 am. The family will be receiving friends at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Avenue, Maplewood, on Thursday 6:00-9:00 pm and Friday 4:00-8:00 pm. Chris, affectionately known as Criddy, born in Port Chester, NY, was raised in South Orange, NJ. He graduated from St. Benedict's Prepatory School and attended Villanova University. On June 6, 1968, he married Winifred Cotter. They resided in Maplewood, NJ where they raised their 4 children. Chris was a beloved husband of Winnie, devoted father of John, Kathleen, Molly and Christine. Loving grandfather of Marshall and Maeve. Dear brother of Louise Hatch and her husband Rick, Maryellen and husband Harvey Yeager M.D., Roseanne McDonough, Timothy McDonough and wife Kika and the late John F. McDonough. Also survived by 21 nieces and nephews who loved and laughed with their uncle Criddy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Benedict's Prepatory School, 520 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd Newark, NJ 07102 in honor of Christopher McDonough would be appreciated.
