Not sure what to say?

A friend an Uncle and to me an angel. There are so many words to describe him. Chris was such an amazing person , his soul pure and shining like a golden star. He now is Twinkling in the night sky. Death to me is such a odd thing even though you know that they are gone your heart still holds there love. As if they were right there so close that if you reached out just a little further you could touch them again. His devilish laugh , his tender heart and his smile. If only I could see that...

I was shocked and saddened when an old Kalamazoo friend told me of Chris' passing. He was one of my best friends in elementary school, and I had not seen him in over 20 years.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
May Chris rest in peace

Christopher was certainly a good friend of mine the last three years. We used to have cookouts and simply talk about life and where it was taking us. And what we were going to do next. The news of his passing is devastating. I will miss him. My deepest sympathy to the Schalk Family.

My deepest sympathy to the whole Schalk family. We were vacationing for two weeks and Pam Traxler emailed the news. I have good memories of Chris from childhood to single adulthood. He will be greatly missed, but with always fond memories. I will pray for you all during this sad time. It is a great loss. I hope knowing that so many cared about Chris helps your pain.

My deepest sorrow and sympathy to every member of the Schalk family in their overwhelming loss. Although I had only met Chris two times, his impact was enormous. Upon our first meeting, I was in deep disbelief upon my 15 year old son's diagnosis of Hodgkin's lymphoma. Chris is the brother of my dear friend Sally and she wanted a few of us to meet him while visiting a mutual friend in Florida. Upon Chris' arrival at the restaurant, he immediately lifted the mood of the social event with...

I am so sad to hear about Chris's death.I have fond memories of Chris from Junior High School. My heart goes all out to all of you.

To the Schalk family,
Please accept my condolences on the loss of Chris. I remember him as a real go-getter and as a friendly person. Chris's intelligence and loquacious personality were a delight to enjoy in company and conversation.
Truly,

Since our last class reunion, where I (among many others) spent a wonderful evening with Chris, I have thought many times about, and looked forward to seeing him again at the 30th. A small group of us, together since kindergarten, marveled at the bonds created in childhood that never faded. He was a special part of that, and though gone, those bonds remain. My sympathy and prayers are with you.

With tremendous shock and sadness I send my deeepest sympthay to all of Chris' family and friends. Chris was an important and cherished part of my childhood. I couldn't have had a cooler friend, neighbor, classmate than Chris. As we grew up together.. Chris was the shoulder to cry on, the hand to hold, and the
one to make me laugh. It all began on Pine Ridge Rd...I always planned on seeing him again at a reunion or somehere and I am so sad not to hear his words of wisdom and laughs again....
