The Gadget Guru
Christopher Jay Scudder loved his gadgets. He had two Palm Pilots and a Handspring Visor. He had music mixers, printers, a digital camera, four computers, two cellphones and eyes on more.

"He was a gadget guru," said Naomi Lauture, his girlfriend of two years. "You talk about someone who was into gadgets."

When Ms. Lauture got an iPaq hand-held computer for work, Mr. Scudder set it up for her and began playing with it. Three days later he had one of his own.

Mr. Scudder, 34, worked as a computer technician for EnPointe Technologies and spent two days a week in the trade center working for a client there. He grew up in Spring Valley and lived in Monsey with Salisha, his daughter from a previous relationship. Salisha is now being raised by his mother, Elzoria, said Adriane Scudder, his sister. "He was the mother and the father," Ms. Scudder said. "He went to the PTA meetings. He took her to church two, maybe three services on Sunday. He wanted to make sure his daughter got the best of everything."

Not sure what to say?

I worked for EnPointe at that time as Vice President of Services, and Chris was one of my employees. Whenever I went to NYC to visit the office, he would always bring me a cup of coffee just because that was who he was. We would talk about God, salvation, and family. What a wonderful delight, and to this very day his picture hangs on every office that I work in to remind me of his generosity, love of the Lord, and family. One day we will meet in heaven!

Remembering you always on this day Brother Chris.

You will always be remembered Brother Scudder!

i remember running into Chris at the Bus station in Buffalo, NY. I was going to Rochester and Chris was headed for NYC to start his job at the World Trade Center. We talked about his computer background and he mentioned that employers who interviewed him were impressed by the fact that most of his computer knowledge was self taught. I actually marveled at this as I was in my third semester in the Computer Information Systems Department at Buffalo State. So I will continue to miss this...

Continue to S.I.P. I remember seeing you as a child always going past my house on your way to work. I remember you telling me while i was running after my ball to watch for cars and to always look both ways. I miss you so much. You watched me grow up and i know you are still watching me and now my children. Thank you for looking down on me
