Not sure what to say?

Hello Dada. It's me Maddie. I really miss you still even though I am 11 years old now. I love you dada.

So sad... dear Ian so many years since NIMR London and our young time. We send Christmas's e-cards from time to time but the last was 2013-14 and I felt today to say hello to you feeling sorry for loosing contact. I wanted to 'hear' your witty warm voice and know about Madeline being now a little girl surely beautiful. But instead of your address I got this... a piece of my life left with you and now is at peace, with you. A big hug, Ian. Hope your family is doing well keeping your loving...

Ian was one of my best friends at school (high school ... really sixth form college) - Newman College, Preston, UK where he was from Sept 78 - June 80. We spent a lot of time together those years... I remember his Hillman Imp - not the sexiest car but still sexier than mine (i.e. nothing), sharing a bed in a hotel in Windermere..cos we couldn't find a room with 2 and trying not to touch each other, playing pool in St. Annes, playing golf at new year with your Dad when it was rather cold and...

Dear Emma,
I was so sad to read of Ian's passing tonight. Please know my thoughts & prayers are with you & Maddie and Ian's family. I know its been awhile and I will get in touch.
Love, Lorraine

Emma,
I still in shock to hear of Ian's passing. He was a great friend and a real support during my time in the US. Even though it has been many years my fond memories of him (and you too) have not dulled. Funnily enough whilst tidying out some old stuff on Saturday, I found a card from you two from back in '06....)
Love
Jamie..

Dearest Emma,
It is with sadness that we offer our condolences. Such a bright man, such a loss.

Ian was always a friendly and kind person with a great sense of humour. I will miss his youthful energy and his enthusiasm - I wish I had been able to see him and Emma since our last visit to San Francisco in July of 2009, especially with Maddie. One memory I have is when Emma, Ian and I went rowing on a lake in PA and Ian was telling Em and I had to row, but wasn't helping us much! Cheeky fellow! My husband James enjoyed the time we spent with Ian and Emma - given that James is English...
