Christopher Stoeckel Obituary
Christopher A. Stoeckel, 35, joined his special angels in Heaven on Sunday, May 18, 2014. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Richard and Margaret Dickerman, and George and Helen Stoeckel. He is survived by his wife, Billie Jo; his children, Ethan, Macenzi, Peyton, and Emma; his mother and step-father, Sandra and Robert Wolford; his father, William Stoeckel; his sister, Jennifer Potenzino; his brother, Jonathan and Miriam Stoeckel; his mother and father in law, Floyd and Cheryl Bronson; his sister in law, Bobbie Jo and James Randall; his brothers in law, Floyd and Michelle Bronson, and Jerry and Thera Bronson, Brian Potenzino; his grandmother, Ruth Wolford; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Christopher was a 1998 graduate of Windsor High School and spent four years serving his country in the US Marine Corps. After his military service, Christopher embarked on a career in law enforcement serving on the Sheriff's departments of Chenango and Broome Counties as well as a patrolman with the Binghamton Police Department. He was also a devoted father who enjoyed coaching his children's sporting events, was an avid golfer and an umpire for the Endicott Umpires Association. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23, at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St. Port Dickinson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Christopher's memory may be made to his children's educational fund c/o Billie Jo Stoeckel, 4 Crescent Dr., Kirkwood, NY 13795.

You´d have been so proud of your kids and the job Billiejo has done raising them. They are the most wonderful and beautiful kids. Of course they are hilarious because they take after our family wellll and maybe it came from you too. You will live always through your kids and the memories we all shared with you. To Chris' family I want to express my sorrow during this especially difficult time. Chris and I served together in the Marine Corps while working in the Camp Pendleton Brig. It was pretty much a thankless job, but Chris always performed extraordinarily. He was quiet but yet loved to joke around. His exceptional work ethic and his little simple grin always had me confident in his character. Instead of being loud like many other Marines, he would almost whisper his little jokes to me and that was just fine with me as I love to joke around as well. He will definitely be missed by so many to include myself, but there is no stronger bond then FAMILY and I am sure that he will check-in with all of you in your dreams and your thoughts. Gob Bless you all and Semper Fidelis Stoeckel although our time together was brief, I am a better man for having known you Marine.

Chris will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to Billie Joe and their children. I will always remember when he took our challenge to become a cheerleader and he was so much fun. Im happy that I got to spend time with him during high school and just wanted the family to know that I am thinking of them. You will be missed Chris!

Lord I ask that you lay your hand of comfort on the Stoeckel family today as they lay their family member to rest. Give them peace of mind to know that just because his earthly body is gone his spirit remains with you Lord. Words cannot begin to express the sorrow that was felt when I heard of Chris's passing. I cannot begin to imagine what you are going through right now BillieJo. Please know that my family and I will continue to pray for God to give you amd your children and the entire Stoeckel family, the strength and support needed at this time. I am so very sorry for your loss. Chris was a good friend in high school. He had a kind heart and was always trying to make people laugh. Those are the memories many if us will hold dear. RIP Chris. My dear brother,
It still doesn't seem real. I feel like I will see you again in a few days. I can not bring myself to believe that I will not. I love the relationship that we had and how much closer we became over the last couple of years. I will miss your funny stories and all the fun times we had together, even if it resulted in me being passed out on the bathroom floor... LOL! I will never forget that you threw a Broncos Super Bowl party just for me even though you are a Packers fan. I still have the balloons you bought for that night which are still afloat. Rick will miss you hanging out with him down in his office. I will miss wrapping my arms around you for a big teddy bear hug. I will also miss watching you with your kids, the lights of your life. You were such a great father to them which makes me so proud! I haven't yet changed the date on my little block calendar because I can't seem to bring myself to quite yet. I feel comfort knowing that you are with Grandma and Grandpa right now and also next to the special angel in your life. Take care of each other. You will always hold a special place in my heart and I am saddened that you will not be at my wedding, yet again. You didn't always say "I love you," but I know you did love me as much I loved you! I will forever miss you!!

At a loss for words brother. You and I were attached at the hip in high school. You were a gentle man who would give the shirt off his back for anyone.
