Christopher Vander Kley

The last time I was home I went on a search to find my old friend Chris. I found him in his workshop...creating.
What beautiful memories I have of our years in high school as we worked on the musicals and plays together. Chris had drive and vision and he took me along for the ride. When I was with Chris it was always magical and full of fun whether is was cutting "swamp grass" for South Pacific huts or designing sets for Spoon River Anthology. I loved Chris and am deeply saddened...

I cannot think of any of my class mates that better epitomized the meaning of "a good person" who treated all equally and fairly. A person who as a teen age male was self assured enough to take on any acting role, was so everything and still quite humble. I just wish I'd had brains to tell him this in person.

Chris was a neighbor and friend when we lived at 1010 Birch and he lived on Chestnut. He did the remodeling on our 1907 home. He did our kitchen, our deck and helped design our carport and garage.
We shared many lovely meals with Chris and have fond memories of the time that we spent together.
We are sorry for your loss.
