Not sure what to say?

Dear Melissa, Madeline, Oliver and Wenzler family. I am praying for all of you and sending my love, support and comfort. I am so sorry for your loss. I only met Chris once but feel so fortunate to enter his life through FB. If i have an adjective to describe him; it would be superlative. He seemed to approach all aspects of his life in a superlative way: love, life, happiness, sadness, compassion, family, work, sports and spirituality! I feel your sadness and blessings to be a small part...

We want Chriss family to know how much we want to thank Chris for being a wonderful mentor to our son Gene! Gene David Graduated in 2006, Chriss positive influence was not only during our sons 4 years at JCU, but continued beyond graduation and for that we are very grateful.
We extend our deepest sympathy to all the Wenzler and Rettew families,
Mr. And Mrs. Gene D. Natale Sr.
Erie, Pa

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. God bless.
I was a Sports Desk Assistant at Elyria's daily newspaper for 35-plus years. So, I obviously had connections with Chris from time to time.
In addition, my youngest son Geoff is a Baldwin Wallace graduate and worked all four years of his college days with Kevin Ruple. Geoff has been the Sports Information Director at Olivet College (Michigan) for about 20 years. Olivet College is the sister school of Oberlin College.

A great guy and a great Blue Streak. Our condolences to Melissa and family and all of Chris's many friends.
