R.E. Rogers Funeral Home - Belfry Obituary

Christopher Williamson, 56, of Canada, KY, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the Pikeville Medical Center.  Christopher was born December 9, 1966, in Williamson, WV, the son of June E. Williamson of Canada, KY, and the late Elijah Williamson.  He was also preceded in death by a sister, Vida Lou Moon.  Chris loved his family, motorcycles, leatherwork, and hunting.  He was a disabled coal miner.  He was the strongest and most kind person to everyone he knew.  He loved to laugh and joke with everyone he came in contact with.  Chris was a gift of fresh air. Everyone knew, he would never allow losing his leg or having cancer bother him, he said it was in God's hands.  Besides his mother, he is survived by his son, Elijah Williamson; two step sons, James "Jay" Kirk and Aaron E. Kirk; two daughter-in-laws, Crystal Kirk and Venessa Kirk; brothers, Ligh Williamson, Rodney "Denise" Williamson, and Greg "DeeDee" Williamson; brother-in-law, Doug Moon; his ex-wife and caretaker, Lois "Rudy" Moon; five grandchildren, Addison Kirk, Reagan Kirk, Jaxon, Parker and his little princess Kadance Kirk.  Chris had a ton of friends that he talked about and a few that would also check in on him, Bruce Reed, Ron West, Pete George, and Robbie Parks.  We pray that the Good Lord takes extremely great care of him.  A Celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2023, from 6 - 8 PM at the Sidney Missionary Baptist Church with memorial services starting at 7 PM with Shawn Ward officiating. R. E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, KY, is serving the Williamson family.  Online condolences at www.rerogersfh.com.

Not sure what to say?

i miss you peepaw

He treated me like a son. Even though I hadn’t seen him in a while he was always liking my posts, asking my dad how I was doing when they talked. All around great guy. I wish I could’ve talked to him about motorcycles since I just got into them. I know we both would’ve loved it.

I hope this one stays on here.
No words need said here, Elijah,Save nah ,Caitlyn Sheana and I will always love you ,

Chris was a sweet, humble person. I loved my nephew. I wish I could have spent more time with him. What a loss for all our family.
