To Gloria and the children. I stayed in your house in 1967 in Davenport. Chuck baptized me in the baptistry on Broad Street. I have often tried to look you folks up; so sorry that I am all these years late. I married Faye who I was writing all that summer from your house. We are 54 years into our life together. We were missionaries in Kenya for 17 years. He was an inspiring and faithful child of God as were you all.

I will forever know Buddy as my Uncle Chuck. We barely knew one another as adults. He was there at a time when I needed him most. I wish I had been a better man in those days so that I could have appreciated the true gift I had in being the nephew of Charles and Gloria Lay.
