Not sure what to say?

To Maria Stevens and family,

We have been informed that Mr. Chuck Stevens passed away few days ago. We would like to send you our sympathy in these difficult moments. Even it is quite normal, it is always not easy to see people we loved to quit our everyday life.

As your neighbors in Garden Grove in 1979-1980, we still thinking about both of you very often. We are keeping very good memories about our stay in California and mostly about your kindness.

While a newly minted teenager in Lincoln, NE, I had the pleasure during the summer of 1956 of watching Chuck Stevens play 1B and manage the Amarillo Gold Sox of the Western League (Class A) Amarillo ultimately lost the league playoff to a younger Lincoln team, filled with Pittsburgh Pirate prospects (including Dick Stuart who clubbed 66 home runs in '56), but the Gold Sox were the more colorful club. RIP Chuck Stevens

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. What a legacy!

Chuck Stevens was an exceptional gentleman in all respects. Chuck served the Player Association in a superb manner throughout his career. He always showed tremendous respect to each & every member, took care of their needs promptly & paid attention to every detail. He was a dear friend of mine & I'm certain God is now taking care of Chuck.

I originally wrote to Mr. Stevens at tAPBPA about the death of a formal player and her wrote back and we shared stories of the deceased player. Over time we continued to write back and forth and then he invited me to the annual dinner. I have attended (along with a group of relatives and friends) for over twenty years. Mr. Stevens made me an honorary member of APBPA. We spoke often and he was an honorable man and a all around good guy who took great care in his handling of all of the...
