Not sure what to say?

we are devasted to hear of Mrs. Banfield's passing. as friends of her son Phil, we have heard many childhood stories and grew to understand their strong bond. our thoughts are with Phil, Landon and Dale during this difficult time.

Cissie and Lan visited us in Newport News, Va right after they were married. Bill was stationed at Langley AFB at the time. Lan had a migraine headache and went to bed immediately and Cissie was stuck with us, whom she didn't know.
Lan had been a close friend of our entire family; even babysitting our kids. We knew him as a bachelor in Holland in Soesterberg AFB. He was the flight surgeon and the pilots gave him a very hard time. My husband, Bill, would often challenge Lan's diagnoses,...

As shocked and saddened as I am by Cissie's sudden passing, it was so wonderful to meet our cousins, about whom we've heard so much these years at the Banfield house today. Though we will miss her lively wit at future Wisconsin gatherings of our small corner of the Mitchell family, I know she and her beloved Lan are together again. May we meet again soon.

John and I were so very sorry to hear of Cissy's sudden death. She was such a light of grace and cheer in our garden club - and around Landon School. We will miss her good natured friendliness and great spirit.

We were so shocked to hear about Cissie. She is an old, dear friend. A fellow Navy junior. I met her on the ship going to Hawaii in 1953, and we were great friends and neighbors in Makalapa; went to Punahou together. She was my maid of honor and my daughter, Becky's godmother. I will miss our visits and phone conversations, reminiscing about our families and wonderful times in Hawaii, and sharing stories about our children and grandchildren. Rest well, Cissie. With our love, Paula and Jerry Lee

I am deeply grieved and saddened to hear of Cissie's death. Know that Landon, Dale, and Philip are very much in Bill's and my thoughts and prayers. I will always be grateful that I had several good visits with her this fall while we were in Virginia. Love to the whole family, Phebe

I was deeply saddened to receive the news of Cissie's passing. What a joy to have met her these last years! Our outgoing cousin provided laughter and warm companionship at the summer gatherings in Wisconsin. She will be sorely missed. Unfortunately, Eric and I will not be able to be with you on Tuesday. I know my brother, Andy, will share some of our favorite memories with you.
Love to each of you,
Bobbin
