Claire E. Dunphy

Claire E. (Madison) Dunphy, age 90, of Colvin Street, Hope, died on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Sunny View Nursing Home in Warwick. She was the wife of the late Earl F. Dunphy, Jr. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Gilligan) Madison, she lived in Scituate for 45 years. She was associated with Cranston ARC. She is survived by a son, Kenneth J. Dunphy of Scituate; a daughter, Mari-Beth Dunphy of Cranston; a sister, Mary Zappini of New Jersey; two grandchildren, Patrick Dunphy and Tania Dunphy, both of Rock Hill, SC; and three great-grandchildren, Madison, Katie, and Emily Dunphy. She was the mother of the late Earl F. Dunphy, III, and the sister of the late Arthur Madison, Joseph Madison, and Doris Capaldi. Her funeral will be held on Monday, December 31, at 9:00 a.m. from the Potvin & Cotter Funeral Home, 45 Curson Street, West Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Ss. Peter & Paul Church, Highland Avenue, West Warwick. Visiting hours are on Sunday from 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
