Not sure what to say?

Never forgotten

I didn't know Claire personally, but we attended a Monday night pilates class together. I admired her perseverance as it appeared that she was going through some kind of treatment. From her obituary she sounded like she had an amazing and full life. I am sorry for your loss, Maria.

I knew Claire at Northfield Mt Hermon. I had a dream about her last night, which is why I looked for her online today and learned of her passing.

The message that Claire sent to me in the dream was - to keep in touch with those that you love, to call them, to do things with them. And also to reach out to new people, as well.

Maria - Though we have never met I send you my deepest sympathy.

I had the privilege of knowing Claire at W&M. We played both field hockey and lacrosse together. Among the many things I remember was her quick wit and compassion. With her love of nature I think of this Eskimo legend is appropriate. “Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy.”

Despite the many years since we had the pleasure of knowing her, it was with such sadness and also a sense of shock that we learnt of Claire’s passing.

Our two families have had a connection for many years and during that time we have experienced some very sad and difficult moments, no doubt this will be one of them, our thoughts and prayers go out to Nancy, Amy, Ted and of course Maria and all who were close to Claire.

I played goalie at W and M with Claire and remember a funny, yet fearless and determined woman. I can tell these traits characterized her full, well lived life after school, and her illness as well . I wish peace to all who mourn her passing.

Although I still can't believe she is no longer with us, this photo of Claire will forever be the way that I remember her. She lived her life to the fullest, and her example was appreciated by all who knew her.

What a wonderful tribute to Claire's spirit of adventure. She and I were keepers together for the W&M Tribe Field Hockey team.

I remember Claire fondly, and pray for those who mourn the emptiness left behind.

The world will be a manifestly sadder place without Claire in it. But for all who knew her, we have all been so immeasurably blessed and enriched by her sweetness, courage, love of life, friendship, and humor. All my memories of Clarie begin and end with a smile, and that is truly remarkable. Take care, Maria, and know you will be in our thoughts and prayers. John and Sandy
