Not sure what to say?

Dear Denise and Russell. The anniversary of the death of someone we love can be difficult, but it can also be a reminder of how fortunate we are to have had them in our lives. That's how it is for me with your mother. She will always be in my heart. My husband and I have moved permanently to the country of Georgia; yes, we live about 25 miles south of Russia! Edward was a Peace Corps Volunteer here in 2003, I came to marry him in 2011, and we live with a large and loving Georgian family. I...

Claire and I worked together at the OVR office in Syracuse and she was a competent and valued employee. But more important to me, she was a valued friend. Even after she retired and I moved to Brooklyn we managed to stay in touch, mostly by telephone. But whenever I was able to get back to Syracuse, we always saw one another. Those visits always reminded me that Claire had a good soul; she was a generous and loving person, who cared deeply about others and lived her values. There are...

Aunt Claire and Aunt Zina at McGrath Christmas

Aunt Claire, was always ready to tell a joke or laugh at one. She welcomed all into her family and sheltered many. Christmas was the best time of year because we had the chance to catch up. Love You

Claire was full of energy, passion, love and opinion. I was her boss when she would let me. Although she was a union leader, her work was always done and done right. Her enthusiasm for life was contagious. I'm pleased to see she enjoyed a long retirement. My sympathies to her family.

I worked with Claire at OVR for many years in the 60's-70's. There were about 15 of us secretaries, all around the same age. Claire made sure we each understood our health benefits in particular, made us aware of the union and what it could do for us and introduced many of us to politics. Over the years we all laughed and cried together and celebrated many milestones. Each time I was in contact with Claire, she wanted to know the latest on all the former OVR employees that I knew. Claire...

I first met Claire working on a political campaign in the early 80s...she was one of a kind and I do miss her. Deepest sympathy to her family---and thank you for sharing her with so many other people in her community!the most

Dear Denise and Russell,
The last time Michael and I were in Syracuse we made a point to visit your mother; over the years we managed to stay in touch by letter and telephone.
She was a good friend and I loved her dearly.

I left Brooklyn in 2011, remarried and am presently living in Tanzania, where my husband and I have been teaching at a university located on the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Although we are far away,I send my condolences and will always have warm memories of...
