Westerly, R.I. - Claire Beatrice Parssinen, of Westerly, R.I., formerly of the Mystic area and New York City, died on July 29, 2005 at the age of 79.

Read MoreI met Claire at the Westerly-Pawcatuck YMCA in the therapy pool several years ago. She had a unique personality and I always enjoyed hearing her unusual stories, of her trips to Germany, and about her early days as a physicist. She will be missed by her "pool buddies" and I hope her afterlife is just as unique!

I met Claire several years ago when she first volunteered for Westerly Shakespeare-in-the-Park. I enjoyed seeing her every summer and hearing about her family and her travel plans. She was a wonderful person and will be missed.

Mrs. parssinen was a customer of mine when I worked at the Washington Trust Company. She was a very patient and comforting person to be around. May God grant her peace.
