Susan and I met Claire through my mother Ellie Allen. We then developed our own relationship with Claire, visiting with her in NYC. We so enjoyed her sparkle, intelligence and wit. She loved talking about art (especially opera) with us and was so happy when I had my own opera produced in Philadelphia. I will always remember going out to eat with her at a neighborhood bistro.
