Claire M. Sullivan

Claire M. Sullivan, 86, of North Dartmouth, MA, formerly of Newport, RI, has gone to be with our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 24, 2015. She died after a brief acute illness, preceded by advanced Alzheimer's disease.
She was born in Newport, RI on September 9, 1928, the daughter of the late Robert J. and Elizabeth (Pullen) Delehanty, Sr.
She has two surviving sisters, Barbara (Delehanty) Perrier, and Joyce (Delehanty) Booth both of Newport and two surviving brothers, Robert J. Delehanty, Jr., of Newport and Norman Delehanty of Jacksonville, FL.
She was predeceased by her youngest sister, Elizabeth (Delehanty) Davis of Newport and her brother, William Delehanty of Fort Myers, FL.
She also leaves two maternal cousins, and seventeen nieces and nephews.
She was the widow of the late Robert Sullivan of Newport, RI and her former husband, the late Herbert H. Weida of Port St. Lucie, FL.
She was educated and lived all her life in Newport. She worked for Sears, in Middletown until her retirement. She was a member of St. Lucy's Parish in Middletown until moving to North Dartmouth, MA, so her daughter, Nancy, could care for her.
Claire enjoyed traveling whenever possible. She was a great walker and loved the outdoors. She always enjoyed meeting and talking with people. She believed in the Family and was very involved with her children and loved being with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
She is survived by her five children, Suzanne (Paul) Field, Herbert (Tina) Weida, Richard (Nancy) Weida, Nancy (John) Duarte, and Clifford (Jean) Weida. She is survived by nine grandchildren: Matthew Lemieux of Somerset, MA, Julie Pavao of Lincoln, Clifford Weida of Panama City, FL, Ryan Weida of Somerset, MA, Jason Weida of Hingham, MA, Kristen Smith of Mansfield, MA, Kerrie Hull of Middletown, Heather Lemieux of Fall River, MA and Jennifer Weida of Newport. She is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 3-6 p.m. at the O'Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring Street, Newport.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place at St Lucy's, 909 West Main Road, Middletown, on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 9 a.m. Interment will be at St. Columba's Catholic Cemetery, Brown's Lane, Middletown.
In lieu of Flowers donations may be made in Claire's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
