Dr. Barbeito was my first professor of Spanish (as a Spanish major) at Montclair State College (1968) - she was very tough in the classroom. One day, for reasons I don't remember, some of us students went to lunch with her in the student center and I saw the kinder, softer human side that I didn't see in class. She took us to a museum in NYC once. Really liked her, never forgot her.

Tia Clara,
A flower fades over time, a tear in the dry wind, but a prayer to God in her name always comes. Thank you for your affection and teaching. God bless you and keep in glory, rest in peace.
