You have our deepest sympathy. We feel so sorry for you for the unexpected loss of Jeanne's Mom. Even though we never met her, we feel like we knew her through both of you and the stories of her visits to England. It is so hard to lose our Moms. I was only five when we moved away from Peacock Walk, but I remember always being able to go over to Rod & Clara's and walk in the door anytime I wanted -- and being petted over and spoiled by Jeannie, Judy and Janice. :) I especially remember Clara's trifle, which she traded off with my mom for tea-time tassies each Christmas, and the bushes with the little red berries they had on either side of their front porch. It's an end of an era, and Clara will be sadly missed by all the "Goudreau...

I will always remember her welcoming smile, her lyrical English accent, her kindness and warm generosity. She is in my thoughts every time I drink a cup of tea or taste an English Trifle. She was my best friend's mother, a second mother to me, and the Brownie Troup leader who taught me all about arts and crafts. Clara Collins was a very special lady, and will be sorely missed.
