Clara E. Davis

Walt and my father, Thor Fladwed, were close friends for years. Once I married my husband, George, in 1980, we were included in outings and dinners with Walt and Clara. We last saw Clara the first week of August in 2008 when we stayed at Rockwood Manor for a couple days. She always sent me clippings about C d'A and Spokane that we chatted about later on the phone. George played "Clare de Lune" for her over the phone. The last note and clippings I received from her were in Sept. of 2010. ...

We have just arrived home from an extended trip the past two months to learn of Clara's passing. She was our next door neighbor on 17th Ave. from 1975 until she moved. She and Walt, who always called me "coach," took us young uns under their wing with advice and small gifts. She would always bake us tasty treats during the holidays.
